EGHS one of only two shows to "star" at state!!!
Once in a great while, a theatergoer will get the pleasure of witnessing a performance so amazing and so moving, that all they can do when the play is over is sit there and contemplate the emotions the actors made them feel over the course of, in this case, thirty minutes. That is exactly what the cast and crew of Proof did in their state championship performance. They may have changed the way the MSHSL organizes the State One-act festival believing now that Class A and AA shows can compete against each other. Congratulations on a job well done. This was the high school's 12th overall appearance at state and its 8th "star" performance. |

Congratulations to the Class of 2008 On June 5th the Eveleth-Gilbert Drama Department said goodbye to eight senior actors and one techie. They had been anchors of the drama program for 3 years. Altogether, their careers span 4 seasons, 11 shows, and an amazing 58 roles. Not only have these EGHS students made two trips to the MSHSL One-act Festival, but they also received a star rating -- the highest honor to be earned -- for both the 2006 production of Two Rooms and 2008 production of Proof. We appreciate all you've done for the drama department. Remember what Sir Laurence Olivier said upon being dismissed from a theater company "Without acting I cannot breathe."

The Eveleth-Gilbert one-act production earned a top billing at the State Festival for the second straight year! Congratulations to the 5 sophomores, 2 seniors, and 1 junior involved with the show! This group of young actors once again captivated the audience at The O'Shaughnessy with this production of Lee Blessing's Two Rooms, performing with a realistic style of acting that few high school actors possess. The future is sound with this group as they prepare to tackle Aurand Harris' Androcles and the Lion for next year's one-act production in the winter of 2007. This was the high school's 11th overall appearance at state and its 7th "star" performance. |

seniors. Cody, Charles, and Kasey had been anchors of the drama program

an amazing 34 parts. Not only had they made two trips to the MSHSL One-act
Festival, but they also received a star performance -- the highest honor
